Traveling Times

We get a lot of questions from people about what it is like to travel for deputation. It is difficult, yet it is very rewarding. We as a family have had to develop what works best for our situation. With homeschooling we find it difficult for the family to go on the long trips, so I (Brent) am traveling by myself during those times. When we have a meeting nearby, we go as a family and it has been wonderful to use the opportunity to see historical sites. Kyle had just been studying the Civil War and when we were in Charleston, SC for a meeting, we stopped by to see the Hunley. If you don't remember, the Hunley is the first submarine used in war times, and it did its work in the Charleston harbor. Here is a picture of the kids inside the replica of the Hunley.
